The National Institutes of Health and other agencies in the DHHS are currently supporting extramural and intramural projects to develop new products to protect the public from the health consequences resulting from the use of biological threat agents. SENTRILLION supports NIAID's efforts to develop new and improved diagnostic tests, vaccines, and therapies necessary to respond effectively to biological threats. By providing Scientific Review Administrators (SRAs) and extramural peer review support, SENTRILLION contributes to one of the highest priorities that NIH/NIAID is responsible for today.

SENTRILLION has also worked with the Russian Federation and the Newly Independent States (NIS) by collaborating with joint teams of former Soviet bio-weapons scientists and U.S. counterparts to collaborate in areas of research and development that address public health concerns, such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases to prevent which former Soviet expertise in bio-weapons development from being transferred to rogue states and terrorists.  SENTRILLION provided program management and operational support.  SENTRILLION is also designing, developing and installing physical security systems for a level 4 bio-containment facilities.
