Since 1981, SENTRILLION has operated the Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC), which is a comprehensive clearinghouse serving as the central facility for acquiring, processing, and disseminating one US agency’s development documents and information. The primary task components involved include: (1) acquisition of all agency published and funded documents, which involves the maintenance of sophisticated document tracking systems; (2) cataloging, abstracting, and indexing of documents; (3) maintaining the 5,000 term Thesaurus; (4) scanning documents acquired by the DEC as well the official project documentation files; (5) maintaining and providing systems support for computerized Development Experience System (DEXS) containing records for over 120,000 documents and over 8,500 development activities; (6) creating and maintaining highly-used, interactive Websites to share information with agency staff here and abroad and serving the agency’s partners; (7) providing training in use of the DEXS; (8) producing a quarterly CD-ROM and CD containing official policies and procedures, and responding to more than 6,000 annual requests for documents in both paper, scanned images, and original print.  Over 4 million documents are downloaded each year from this clearinghouse website.

SENTRILLION also provides comprehensive technical and management support for a Records Management System which involves the processing, quality control, index preparation, scanning and CD-ROM preparation and inventory control of over 250,000 official agency records and images annually.  Databases to permit rapid identification and retrieval of images are maintained.  SENTRILLION is highly skilled in the re-purposing of data/information to meet multiple purposes ranging from online .pdf browsing, hard copy publication, and CD-ROM, as well as online interactive database searching.

For over ten years, SENTRILLION has been in the forefront of using CD-ROM technology for the dissemination of technical and scientific information. SENTRILLION has created the Annual Reporting Application, which is a specialized software tool that enables U.S. and overseas agency operating units to prepare and report on their program's performance and provide indicators and budget requests at the same time. This approach is a major improvement over past reporting procedures and has provided efficiencies in analyzing its programs, preparing GPRA reports on its performance, and creating budget justifications from the same data calls.
