SENTRILLION
views Identity Management as a central tenet of our strategy of protecting physical, information technology, and human assets. Whether it’s physical
or logical access, there is a requirement for correct and minimally intrusive identity
verification.
SENTRILLION
is an early leader in identity management
by designing, engineering, installing and maintaining the first registered traveler
program at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This solution was SENTRILLION’s
response to a request from Customs and Border
Protection (CBP) to assist in providing a secure, and minimally intrusive,
solution
for US citizen border crossings at remote, infrequently staffed ports of entry
in
Maine. Because many
US
citizens along the
Maine
border choose to shop, socialize and worship on the Canadian side of the border,
SENTRILLION developed the Remote Port Entry Program (RPEP) solution, to afford citizens
the flexibility to cross the border at their convenience while continuing to maintain the security requirements for a post 9/11 world.
RPEP utilizes an HSPD-12 compliant smart card that
a verified citizen can use to remotely authenticate themselves to a regional CBP
command center. Once authenticated, CBP can approve the citizen to cross the border,
24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
