SENTRILLION (through its subsidiary–LTS Corporation) maintains an online clearinghouse
supported by Sun Enterprise 450 servers.
The system is currently sized to support concurrent sessions for data entry, word
processing, information search and retrieval, program development, system operations
and maintenance; and is accessed by Web users around the globe.
SENTRILLION also operates a complex WAN that connects the clearinghouse to
various government client offices in the DC metropolitan area, supports sister contracts
as a first tier IPS provider, and maintains over 10 Web, LAN, and special applications
servers including a 200GB RAID of online document images.
SENTRILLION programmers have redesigned
and developed a major website that experiences over 4 million document downloads
annually. Website programmers are also
involved with continuous development and updates of government websites to keep
them current, useful, and visually attractive.
SENTRILLION staff were honored with receipt of the 2006 NIH Plain Language Award and the 2007 National
Association of Government Communicators Blue Pencil Award for website excellence.
SENTRILLION is designing and developing
a knowledge and content management system to organize the massive proliferation
of
electronic file folders in a manner that is meaningful and practical for the
system users. When critical business
data and information is needed quickly, such as to effectively respond to Congressional
Inquires, the information must be readily available, in a meaningful format and
easy to find. As more and more government
employees retire, the personal knowledge maintained in their files must be available
to promote effective decision-making.
