Mr. Kay is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sentrillion Corporation. He is the former Chairman and CEO of OTG Software, a data storage software company that he founded in 1992. OTG became the leader in online data storage solutions and was acquired by Legato Systems in 2002. Mr. Kay remained on the board of directors until the acquisition of Legato Systems by EMC in 2003.
He is a partner in Monumental Sports and Entertainment and currently serves on the board of directors of the University of Maryland School of Engineering. He is a special partner with ABS Capital, a multibillion dollar equity investment firm focused on healthcare, IT and media companies. Mr. Kay is also an honorary member of the board of directors of Venture Philanthropy Partners.
Mrs. Powers, Chief Financial Officer, is a hands-on executive manager with a strong focus on the growth of the company as well as the importance of superior customer service. She is responsible for leading the Accounting, Pricing, Purchasing, and Human Resources business units for Sentrillion and its subsidiaries. She has 20 years of experience in the government contracting marketplace.
Through her years at Sentrillion, she has played a significant role in the merger and acquisition activity heading up the integration of the accounting systems and the back office departments that she manages. Ms. Powers holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Christopher Newport University, Newport News, VA.
Mr. Peters, Chief Technology Officer, manages the physical security division, including engineering support services and operations and maintenance (O&M) support services. The consummate security professional, Mr. Peters has over 35 years’ experience working security and force protection missions in support of U.S foreign policy, Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) strategic objectives.
Mr. Peters had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 2001. From September 1984 to July 2001 he was a member of the U.S. Army’s 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he held leadership positions at every operational detachment level on special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense, direct action, unconventional warfare, and counter-terrorism missions supporting U.S. strategic objectives in politically sensitive and hostile areas within the Southern Command area of responsibility. Mr. Peters was awarded the Legion of Merit upon his retirement from the U.S. Army “Green Berets”. Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Mr. Peters joined Sentrillion and built the operational division responsible for successfully designing and implementing physical security solutions for the Department of Defense and for U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Mr. Peters holds a MA in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University’s School of Business and Technology, and is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) with the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).
Mr. Ackerman is a trusted advisor and a dependable resource for Sentrillion management and staff. He has nearly 15 years of corporate legal experience, specializing in government contract law, commercial agreements, corporate transactions, and corporate governance. In addition to his responsibilities as Sentrillion’s in-house legal counsel, Bryan stresses excellence in the organization through a determined focus on compliance and quality.
He supervises the company’s contracts administration, compliance, government relations, network administration, and quality management departments. Bryan received his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson School of Law. He received his Bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Michigan.
While serving the Department of Homeland Security’s US Customs and Border Protection, Mr. Donlon held several leadership positions, including Branch Chief, Border Security Deployment Program Manager, Senior Program Manager, as well as Deputy Director.
Donlon received 17 commendations during his tenure and was also a nominee for the Samuel J. Heyman, Service to America Medal, for his role in leading the recovery efforts of CBP’s high technology enforcement equipment destroyed during Superstorm Sandy in New Jersey and New York. Additionally, in his role at CBP, he oversaw the planning and execution of the agency’s logistical support of enforcement technology for National Security Special Events. Prior to his tenure at CBP Donlon served in several executive leadership positions with companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 businesses. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and has personally led several which were highly valued and helped redefined the specific industry.
David Newton, PMP
Mr. Newton has been successfully managing government programs for over 25 years specifically in the areas of Information Technology and Electronic Security Systems. With more than 14 years at Sentrillion, he currently manages the Program Management Office (PMO) by providing leadership and oversight for all Sentrillion contracts.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Information Systems Management (MSISM) from the George Washington University. Mr. Newton is a certified PMP and a long-time member of the PMI and IEEE.
