Job Description:
The ideal candidate shall be a highly trained electronic security specialist with a minimum of five (5) years experience with the Department of Defense in physical and procedural security. They shall have excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and instructional abilities. The candidate shall have demonstrated experience in applying policies and procedures in accordance to DoD Regulation. This position shall serve as the Access Control/Alarm systems administrator and maintenance manager. The candidate shall be certified by Lenel as a Direct Support System User. The candidate shall serve as the Program Manager and Security Systems Administrator (SSA) for the Electronic Security System that includes access control and intrusion detection.
Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate must be a highly trained security specialist with a demonstrated commensurate specialized experience in electronic security systems administration. This position shall be responsible for updating software to meet Information Assurance, Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) compliance, if required. This position requires certification on the operating system of the Access Control/Alarm System. They must demonstrate excellent communicative and interpersonal skills and instructional abilities. The candidate must have specialized experience with the Department of Defense in physical and procedural security. The candidate must have knowledge of state-of-the-art intrusion detection systems and devices, safes and other storage containers, locks and locking systems, personnel entry control systems, ballistic protection measures, asset protection, and loss prevention. Knowledge of physical security requirements outlined in DoD Instructions and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) is required. The ESS Systems Security Administrator shall be certified by Lenel as a Direct Support System User.
The Electronic Security Systems Administrator shall:
- Serve as the Administrator for the Electronic Security System (ESS). The ESS is a modular system consisting of an alarm, intrusion detection, alarm annunciation/command and control subsystem, sensors, and closed circuit television cameras (interior and exterior), parking lot call boxes throughout the customer campus.
- Serve as the Electronic Security System Systems administrator and maintenance manager. Must independently operate, inspect, diagnose, and perform minor repair for system problems and be capable of taking immediate actions to resolve malfunctions. Requires detailed knowledge of all hardware and software operating systems, to include maintenance of all systems, linked sensors, system configurations from front-end to end users.
- Oversee and certify all work done on the system and oversees and certifies all additional equipment and capabilities installed on the system.
- Performs all Systems Administration duties to include issuing and managing Personal Identification Numbers for all personnel authorized to arm and disarm individual accounts throughout the customer campus, installing security patches, IAVAS, and all other services to obtain and maintain system certification.
- Provides maintenance and operation duties on the system components as described in systems commercial technical orders and manuals, security policies and guidelines, and applicable customer operating instructions and Government regulations.
- Provide on-site maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs of the Electronic Security System (ESS) (Closed-Circuit Television, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Access Control Systems), computer equipment, communication transmission equipment, IDS sensors, video equipment, and support equipment
- Incorporate standard maintenance practices and manufacturers recommendations for the performance of routine and preventative maintenance.
Special Considerations:
Personnel shall project a professional image at all times. Personnel are required to be attired in standard business apparel unless otherwise directed. Personnel tasked to perform briefings or conduct training will present a highly professional demeanor. Personnel shall be customer service oriented, courteous and work well with others. Personnel shall not eat or drink within their work area and/or while assigned to any post. The work site will be operated as a Classified Open Storage Area at the Secret level. Personnel are prohibited from bringing any portable electronic device into the building except radios furnished. This includes but is not limited to cell phones, televisions, commercial radios, ipods, or any other electronic device/system. Any employee caught in the facility with a portable electronic devices not previous approved shall be immediately removed from employment. Personnel shall be precluded from using televisions, commercial radios, cell phones, or any other electronic device/system for entertainment or personal use, except that equipment issued for the performance of assigned duties. Personnel shall not read, write, study non-duty related materials or conduct personal business while on-duty. Personnel shall not use customer phones for personal use, use customer computers for personal use, allow friends or family to access the work location unless on official business. The Electronic Systems Security Administrator position shall be manned between the hours of 0730 and 1600, Monday thru Friday, except established holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings. Additionally, the Electronic Systems Security Administrator shall be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, everyday of the year to respond within two hours to provide service call and minor emergency maintenance service as directed by the government. The Electronic Systems Security Administrator shall be required to have TOP SECRET/SCI/IT-II clearance. Failure to obtain and maintain the level of clearance required will result in removal from the work site. Travel may be required under this requirement.
