Job Title: Senior Information Security Engineer
Location: Reston, VA
Responsibilities:
Participate in all aspects of Information Assurance/Cyber Security Consulting Services to include: Support client engagements in both a business development and execution environment. Support BD Staff on sales calls, develop responses to the technical aspects of solicitations, assist with the closing of new business, and perform hands-on technical tasks on new engagements.
Work independently or in a team environment, with clients, on-site or off site.
Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal policy requirements for federal information systems and familiarity with NIST special publications.
- Proficient in researching and evaluating emerging information technologies relevant to information security; interpreting requirements and providing analytical reviews for system architecture, equipment and software; and providing recommendations.
- Proficient in security policies, standards, and best practices and ability to convey information to technical and non-technical audiences verbally and in writing.
- Able to apply knowledge of security protocols, architectures, equipment, services, standards and technology to various security engineering activities.
- Capable of designing, configuring, integrating and deploying open source and commercial applications and tools to monitor and assess information technology systems.
- Knowledge of aspects of intrusion detection management, audit management, network and database vulnerability assessment and compliance management, security configuration, and auditing tool management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. This position requires five (5) years of Information Security experience and two (2) years of information technology experience. Focused networking and information security experience to include: network design & build, compliance assessments, vulnerability assessments (network/operating system/application), penetration testing, and developing information security guidance. An advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline may be considered equivalent to two (2) years information security specialized experience. The CISSP certificate may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of information security experience. Certificates such as Microsoft's MCSE, or Cisco's, CCNA, CCDA or CCIE, may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of information technology experience.

Education
- Bachelor of Science / Arts degree, or equivalent related experience.
Certifications
- Security, Microsoft, and/or Cisco Certifications desired: CISSP, CCNA, CCIE, MCSE.
Clearance
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
