Vice President of Business Development

Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Business Development is responsible for the following duties:

  • Overall business development, staff management, establishing and achieving revenue goals for the corporation.
  • Lead the Business Development team by managing daily operations and developing and executing growth strategy.
  • Continually develop new client business by pursuing business opportunities with strategic targets and cultivating relationships with existing clients.
  • Serve as a key member of the executive team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
  • Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy.
  • Responsible for developing strategic partnerships with management.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities; and assist in the preparation of winning proposals for our government opportunities.
  • Responsible for oversight of customer contact and positioning; teaming interactions; and coordination with other internal business development resources available across Sentrillion.

Experience

  • Experience as a senior business development executive in federal government industry.
  • Minimum of 15 years of business development experience, including government business development and management level experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred but not required.
  • An established professional network in the federal government markets.
  • A proven track record as senior level business development executive managing other business development resources.
  • Experience in capture and proposal management.
  • A proven track record in winning bids in the federal market place.
  • Experience with customer relationship management and opportunity tracking.
  • Experience with MS Office suite and MS Outlook.

  • Leadership qualities in the areas of organization and staff development.
  • Strong commitment to mentoring and development of staff from the associate through manger levels.
  • Ability to respond effectively and quickly to clients needs and issues.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate complex concepts/business issues verbally and in writing to clients, associates and management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects and proven ability to develop business relationships.
  • Able to obtain and/or maintain the required security clearances.
